Jon K. Speare • Executive Director, The Treasury Institute for Higher Education • Managing Director, Commonfund

Jon K. Speare, has over twenty-five years experience in institutional financial services emphasizing investment and treasury management. Prior to joining Commonfund in 1996, Jon was with MAS Funds overseeing Client Service Administration, and CoreStates Bank, developing and marketing cash management services to the Education industry. Jon has been a faculty member of NACUBO Professional Development, College Business Management Institute (CBMI), and the Association for Financial Professionals. He has also written articles/white papers for Robert Morris Associates, NACUBO and the Association for Financial Professionals. He served as co-author for the treasury management chapter of NACUBO′s handbook for higher education business officers (CUBA, Sixth Edition). He is a founder and Executive Director of The Treasury Institute for Higher Education, a past trustee of the Crozer Keystone Health System, and a past Finance Committee member of the Chester Community Improvement Project. Jon has a B.A. from The Colorado College and a M.B.A. from Villanova University.



Alvin C. Rodack • Associate Treasurer at The Ohio State University (retired)

Al Rodack was the Associate Treasurer at The Ohio State University. He was responsible for overseeing operations including treasury management, debt management, all non-endowment investments and operations of an internal bank. He also worked with risk management, bursar and accounts receivable.  He had thirty five years’ experience with Ohio State. He also worked as an Investment Officer and fixed income portfolio manager for PNC Bank.
A Certified Treasury Professional (CTP), Al is Chairman of the Treasury Institute for Higher Education.  He serves as Chairman of the Political Action Committee for the Association of Financial Professionals (AFP). He previously served on the AFP Board of Directors.  He is on the Board of Directors of the Columbus Medical Association Foundation. Al is on the faculty of the SACUBO College Business Management Institute (CBMI). He also taught a finance course on Treasury Management at Ohio State. He received a B.S. degree in Accounting and an M.B.A. in Finance, both from The Ohio State University.
